Virgin Galactic's First Commercial Space Mission Soars to Success, Crew Celebrates with Fist Bump

Virgin Galactic celebrated the success of its first commercial space mission with a fist bump onboard their spaceplane. The flight, which took a team of Italian researchers more than 50 miles above Earth's surface, marked a milestone for the company in its pursuit of space tourism.

The mission, named Galactic 01, involved conducting science experiments in weightless conditions. Unlike its competitors, Virgin Galactic's flight was not crewed by wealthy individuals or celebrities, and the focus was on testing 13 experiments in zero gravity. The cost for future tickets has been raised to $450,000. Virgin Galactic's approach to space travel involves mid-air launches, which reduces the need for large amounts of fuel.
