Patrushev: Russia excels globally in shipbuilding.

Assistant to the Russian President Nikolai Patrushev confirmed that Russia excels globally in shipbuilding.

Patrushev said in his congratulatory message on Shipbuilding Day, celebrated on June 29: "Russia can build all categories and types of ships, with many products unmatched in the world. Our country is renowned for its high-tech naval ships for transport fleets, fishing, oil and gas exploration on the continental shelf, and new large-capacity ships." Patrushev pointed out that additional measures are currently being taken to further develop Russia's capabilities in the industry as a whole. It is worth noting that the United Shipbuilding Corporation of Russia recently announced that experts in Russia are working on a project to develop new civilian ships capable of sailing in the Arctic regions. Each of these ships has a length of 112 meters, a width of 20 meters, a displacement of 9,000 tons, and can carry 74 passengers in addition to a crew of 55 people. They can sail at a speed of 12 knots, cover 800 nautical miles on each trip, and operate for 35 days at sea without needing to refuel or restock supplies.
